People think that Rotarians are "old people" so what better than to show it by going back in time !

The party in full dressThe Severn Valley  Railway regularly hosts 1940s weekends and this year members of Colwall Rotary Club attended, and did so in style by wearing period costume. As  the planned train journey from Malvern to Kidderminster was replaced by a Bus Service due to engineering works, we gave a lot of people something to smile about.

This event gets a high profile in Kidderminster and the venue was packed. Our train left at noon and part of the ride was taken up with Sunday Lunch. Afterwards the train progressed up the line past various stations, all of which were themed for the weekend. The was much live music at many stations and the quality of the music was top class.

Many thanks to Rotarian Nick Paul for organising this enjoyable...

Getting ready to boardThe club went away for a holiday over the last weekend in March.

A large number of club members and spouses went to Dartmouth where some played Golf, others did the local sites and sampled the shopping.

Friday night was "dining where you pleased", with a dinner in the hotel on the Saturday.

The feature trip was a boat trip up river to Greenway, the house that had been owned by Agatha Christie.

Colwall Rotary Mayhem Riders Tony Brook, Russell Horton, John Remmington,David and Katie Watson battled through wind, rain and mud to finish in the top 84% of teams in the 24hr Mountain Mayhem at the weekend - "pretty good for old folks in their first competition" as Russell said.

Over 1850 solo riders and teams took part in the world's biggest mountain bike festival in the scenic splendour of Eastnor deer park.
The professional teams were aiming to complete up to 30 circuits of the 10 mile course through woods, twists and turns,up steep hills and down technically challenging steps and jumps.

Eight members of Colwall Rotary Club recently made a trip to Strasbourg to visit the Rotary Club of Strasbourg Europe and the European Parliament.

The trip commenced at 6am on Saturday 19th April at Great Malvern Station as the trip was made by rail all the way as the Rotarians were keen to experience the ups and downs of making such a long trip in the most green manner. Changes in London (for the Eurostar) and Paris (to complete the trip on the new TGV Est line) resulted in the group arriving in Strasbourg at 4:45pm local time.
